I am Abdel I lived most of my life in Tunisia, Morroco and Turky. At the age of 21 I moved to the USA on an exhange program. I am 28 now living in Cairo, Egypt. I totally agree with the comment that says that most Arab gay men do prefer to consider themselves active (tops).
As I grew up in Tunisia, I know that that country is a model of liberalism, and certain 'alternate' sexual behaviors are more accepted that in most of the rest of the Arab world. It is striking to observe how homosexual behavior like Arab gay sex is common in Arab countries, yet so under-recognized by the Arab society.
Most of my Arab boy teenage mates had had before high school graduation some kind of sexual interaction with another boy, and again, being active with another man would not label you as gay whatsoever, you'd still be considered straight by those standards. .
